Jason Bootz joined Community Hospital Corporation (CHC) on Monday, February 16, 2009 as Vice President/Post Acute Care. In this role, Jason will oversee CHC Community Care, the CHC division that provides LTACH and rehabilitation development and management services. Jason joins CHC after working with Transition Health Services as the Director of Hospital Division, with responsibility for five LTACHs in Texas and Oklahoma. Prior to his career at Transition, Jason was with Cornerstone Healthcare Group where he held roles at the CEO of the Cornerstone Hospital in Austin, the Director of Development at the corporate office, and the Director of Managed Care and Development, as well as Interim CEO at several facilities. He also has worked at Warm Springs Rehabilitation System in San Antonio and Cardiovascular Ventures, Inc./West Houston Heart Center. Read More...

On February 12, 2009, the Internal Revenue Services released its long-anticipated final report (the “Report”) containing the results of a two-year study focusing on community benefit reporting practices and executive compensation practices of tax-exempt hospitals. The results are based on a survey the IRS sent to 500 tax-exempt hospitals in May 2006, and builds on analysis of results first released by the IRS in an interim report in July 2007. Read More...
