Program Description
For the most comprehensive program available on legal issues related to reimbursement, attend AHLA’s Institute on Medicare and Medicaid Payment Issues. As in the past, there will be breakout sessions on more than 50 topics presented by leading experts, including many CMS officials. Some of the topics include:
- Recovery Audit Contractors and Compliance Strategies
- Medicare Bad Debt
- Medicare Ambulatory Surgery Center Payment and Regulatory Update
- Medicare Physician Reimbursement Issues
- Separate Updates on Medicare Litigation, Medicare Secondary Payor Issues and Hospitals Inpatient PPS
- Introductory sessions on Fraud and Abuse, Medicaid, Coding, and Researching Medicare and Medicaid Issues for those new to the area of Medicare and Medicaid
The In-House Counsel Practice Group luncheon will be held on Wednesday, March 25, and the Regulation, Accreditation, and Payment Practice Group luncheon will be held on Thursday, March 26.
Please note: There is an additional fee for the luncheons, space is limited and pre-registration is required.
The program begins on March 25 at 8:00 am and ends March 27 at 3:15 pm. The schedule of topics and events will be available soon.
CLE Information
This program will be worth approximately 19.6 credits (including 1.0 ethics credits) for 60-minute states and approximately 23.6 credits (including 1.2 ethics credits) for 50-minute states. Participants will be given CLE Request forms at the program. Forms must be completed and returned to AHLA staff to receive credit. The sessions, unless otherwise designated, are intermediate to advanced in level. There are no prerequisites required to register for this program.
This seminar will be worth approximately 23.0 CPE credits. AHLA is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. This program is designed to be an update on developments in the area of reimbursement. There are no prerequisites or advanced preparations required to register for this group live program. Those seeking accounting credits should be familiar with the basic concepts of law and terminology associated with this area in order to obtain the full educational benefit of this program.
